This article will guide you through using HandBrake to encode your videos for optimal playback on CallConnect signage devices.
The system supports mp4 videos. The audio and video codecs supported depend of platform and model of the digital signage player used. In most cases it's best to test out the videos you want to display on our signage players. Here are some guidelines to ensure your videos play well on our digital signages players
- H264 Video Codec
- MP4 or MP3 Codec Audio Codec (Note: AAC is not support due to Apple licensing)
- 1080p or 720p resolution
- 1Mbps - 2Mbps bitrate
1. Download HandBrake from the official site for your platform. https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
2. Launch HandBrake and drag and drop or open the file you want to convert.
3. On the summary tab select "Web Optimized" and select the output file name with and mp4 extension. Make sure the file name does not have any spaces.
4. On the "Video" tab set the "Avg Bitrate" to something between 1000kbps and 2000kbps (1Mbps - 2Mbps)
5. On the "Audio" tab make sure the "Codec" is set to "MP3" if you require sound. CallConnect signage devices do not support AAC encoding.
6. Select "Start Encode" at top of the menu ribbon. The resulting video should play well on CallConnect signage devices.
