How to Create an Offer

Modified on Thu, 19 Oct, 2023 at 11:19 AM

An offer is a way to allow your customers to purchase vouchers for various products at a discounted rate.

Before you being creating a new offer, make sure you have added the appropriate product(s) and voucher(s).

In the menu under Manage, select either List Offers or Add New Offer.

An existing offer can be edited by selecting List Offers and then clicking on the edit icon. The process for editing is the same as adding a new offer.

This will open up the form for setting up a new offer.

Add a Title to help identify this offer.

Add a Description to provide more details about the offer.

You can add an Optional Field Description, but this is not really used.

Display Offer sets where the offer will be visible to the user. Just leave this as APPONLY.

The Offer Value Amount is the retail value of the offer. Leave the Offer Value Amount Currency Code as USD.

The Offer Price Amount is the amount that the guest will be charged for the offer. Leave the Offer Price Amount Currency Code as USD. Leave this value set at $0 if this is a free offer. A free offer is essentially a coupon.

Set the Start Date/Time. This needs to be a date and time some point in the future. This date and time is when the offer will become ACTIVE and available for guests to purchase.

Set the End Date/Time. This is when the offer will become INACTIVE and will no longer be available for the guests to purchase. If this needs to be a very long lived offer, set the End Date/Time far into the future. The offer can always be stopped manually if needed.

The Maximum Number of Purchasers can be set to limit how many guests can purchase this offer.

The Maximum Qty Allowed Per Purchase can be set to limit the number of times this offer can be purchased at one time. This should almost always be 1 (one).

The Minutes Between Purchases can be set if guests are allowed to purchase this offer multiple times. If this is set a guest must wait at least this many minutes before they can purchase this offer again.

IMPORTANT: If the Minutes Between Purchases is not set, guests will only be allowed to purchase this offer once. For example, if you want to limit a guest to a maximum of one purchase of this offer, set the Maximum Qty Allowed Per Purchase to 1 (one) and leave the Minutes Between Purchases blank.

The Priority can be set to help sort the offers in the app as they are presented to the user. This should be a number, and lower numbers are higher in the list. For example, an offer with a Priority of 1 should be shown before one with a Priority of 2.

Check the Show Qty at all Times checkbox if you want to show the number of remaining purchases available.

You can add any specific terms and conditions on the offer in the Terms field.

The Template links have prepopulated terms and conditions which can be used as a starting point for the Terms text field.

Once you have filled in the specific details for this offer, click on the Add Vouchers button to begin adding voucher(s) to this offer.

This will bring you to the form for adding a voucher. You must add at least one voucher to the offer.

Select the Voucher to be used from the dropdown. The values are the voucher templates in the system. If the voucher template has been configured with a value for the End Date/Time Days to Add or the Redemption Policy Text, those fields will be automatically populated when you select the voucher template.

Set a Valid Start Date/Time for when this voucher can start to be used by the guest.

Set a Valid End Date/Time for when this voucher can no longer be used.

If you set a value for End Date/Time Days To Add, the voucher will be valid for the number of days after issuance to a guest. For example, if the value is set to 30, the guest will have 30 days after purchase, or after the Start Date/Time, whichever is later, to use this voucher.

Add the Quantity of the Voucher that will be used for this offer. This is usually 1.

If you want to add multiple copies of this voucher to the offer, set the Duplicate field. For example, if you set the Duplicate field to 5, it will add 5 vouchers configured with the values provided in the form.

You can add a specific Image URL to this voucher that will be used in either the mobile app or website when this voucher is displayed. If the Image URL is set, it should take precedence over any Product Image URL and/or Product Icon URL set on the Product associated with this voucher. If no Image URL is set on the voucher, then the Product Image URL and/or Product Icon URL should be shown.

The Redemption Policy is the method by which this voucher can be redeemed. It is usually just POINT_OF_SALE.

You can add any necessary terms and conditions in the Redemption Policy Text field.

The Template links have prepopulated terms and conditions which can be used as a starting point for the redemption policy text field.

Once you have completed setting up this voucher, click on the Use Voucher button.

This will take you back to the main offer creation page and should show a success message.

The offer creation screen should now show all of the vouchers that have been added to the offer. If you want to continue adding more vouchers, click the Use Voucher button; otherwise, click Confirm Offer to finalize the creation.

This will take you to the page to review and confirm that the offer is set up correctly.

If everything looks good, click the Confirm button. This will return you to the list of offers in the system and should show that the offer was created successfully.
